By reading our interviews, we hope future generations feel inspired and deepen their passion for the field. We hope you are “ready to learn, dive in, and share.”

Rachel (Ruiqiu) Zou, Co-Founder

Hi! My name is Rachel, and I’m a co-founder of Scrubbed In. I’m Chinese, grew up in Australia, and moved to the U.S. in 2023. I was inspired to start this project after volunteering at Texas Children’s Hospital during the summer after my freshman year. Through that experience, I had the opportunity to speak with a variety of healthcare professionals — including a radiologist, an OR nurse, and an emergency medicine resident. Hearing their stories gave me a deeper understanding of the path to medicine and strengthened my passion for pursuing a career in healthcare.

Kira Nguyen, Co-Founder

Hello! My name is Kira Nguyen, and I have the pleasure of serving as one of the co-founders of Scrubbed In. I was born and raised in texas, and I’m Vietnamese American. During the summer following my sophomore year of high school, I had the privilege of taking part in a volunteer program at Texas Children’s Hospital. There, I gained firsthand exposure to the realities of the medical field, listening to the candid perspectives of healthcare professionals. Gaining insight into life is like in their shoes sparked my curiosity and determination to delve deeper into the world of medicine, leading me to where I am now with the help of two wonderful co-founders! With Scrubbed In, I hope to spotlight the voices of healthcare workers and offer others a look into the medical world!
